How to do a Virtual Physio consultation

If you’re new to the virtual world of physio, our team have some tips to guide you through the process.

If you’re used to seeing you Physio in person or haven’t yet used our Virtual Physio platform, you may be wondering how it works. It’s actually much easier than you think to have an effective online physiotherapy session from the comfort of your own home, work or indeed anywhere else that you may be!

An overview of the process:

What you will need to do:

Prior to the consultation starting it’s a good idea to make sure that you’re in well lit area and that your phone has plenty of charge. If possible it can be useful for a second person to hold the phone for some parts of virtual physio session, or for you to prop it against something if needed.

You should expect your virtual physio to confirm a few details with you once you’re connected and check that you can hear each other.

An online physio session is a lot like a normal session and your physio will discuss your problem with you to gain an understanding of your movement difficulties or pain.

Your virtual physio will likely ask you to complete some movements or tests whilst online too. Your physio will always aim to get your treatment started straight away and will discuss some steps that you can take immediately.

Your video and photographic exercise programme will follow after the call ends, together with a summary of the virtual physio session.

In the unlikely event that you lose connection with your physio, use the same link to rejoin the online session.
